new wifi link firmware, device registration

Post by skiv71 on Sun Nov 02, 2014 12:04 am

Hi Guy's,

The recent release of the new Heating devices has given rise to several firmware updates from LWRF.

Prior to these updates, my unit (like most other people's) was running firmware version R2.51a.

It's now running version R2.91F.

These new firmware's have changed how a controlling device authenticates against the wifi link.

Previously, it was enough to send the UDP string and if the controlling device was 'not' registered, you'd receive a prompt on the wifi link to permit the device.

Newer firmware's require that a separate (app linking) string be sent before that controlling device is permitted to send RF commands.

The latest version (currently 1.039) includes revisions to BMS Link to cater for the above.

The registration process is automatic (i.e. no special commands need be sent by the user), but you'll still need to accept the prompt on the wifi link itself.

Please see the below post regarding resetting your wifi link.

Thanks
