Installation Issue
Hey folks,
Hoping someone can point me in right direction.
Imported the ovf template into ESX 5.5 last night. Had to edited the vmx file to make it "VirtualHW Version 8" so that I can edit settings on VShpere rather than configuring all the web services.
Everything seems to be operational in the VM and the server obtains a DHCP address, which I can ping. It does not register in DNS, but that could be due to my DNS being embedded in Active Directory, I can look at that later. I am not able to gain access via the IP address h-t-t-p:-/-/x.x.x.x:8180, which I assume I should.
Any pointers on how to check all services running OK in VM? Can't get past login screen and even if I could, it would be a whole bunch of googling to find the commands lol
Thanks in advance,
Phelz

Re: Installation Issue
Hi Phelz,
Me again
I've seen a new installation on my server last night (around 00:12)
Would this be yours?
I just tried a connection to the declared public IP, but this would only work if your router allows UPnP client control.
Do you use any IM based software?
Will be easier (and quicker) to help you further.
Neil

Re: Installation Issue
Hi Neil,
Yeah, that would have been me Unfortunately I have a Dell Sonicwall appliance and due to security implications, it does not support UPnP. The kids love me for it as it messes up their NAT on their Xbox's!! lol.
I don't use IM software anymore, I guess it died with the advent of Facebook and WhatsApp. I can add you on Skype or I can create a Webex, if you wish.
I really appreciate your help in this matter.

Re: Installation Issue
No problem with the UPnP, you can disable this in the system area of BMS Link.
Then sort your own remote access out
Yea please add me on skype (skiv211271)
