Connection Refused
Hi
Im trying to setup BMS on a windows 7 machine, using virtual box. Everything seems to work, I get to the prompt in the virtual machine.
I then open a browser and head to the link bmslink:8180/
Here I get a connection refused message
Pinging bms link points to 192.168.2.110 so that appears to be working, however if you visit this url then its connection refused
Not sure what to do now?

Re: Connection Refused
Hi,
I can see from the central server your system did indeed go live (and is now up to date) 14:36.
When using the url [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the DNS for that host is handled locally via your router/DHCP server.
On the whole, this is rarely a problem.
Have you tried [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ?
I tried connecting via your public IP but that did not connect, but I'm unsure if you still have your instance live.
Please feel free to add me on skype (skiv211271) for further assistance.
Neil

Re: Connection Refused
Hi wrcaston,
I'm assuming you're a new user too, just checked my server and I've seen no new connections since skiddle's installation.
If the instance had of gone live it should of showed up.
In general, the installation is very simple and most user's seem to get up and running without problem.
During my testing, I found that the new Windows 10 has a problem with bridged network connections.
Since this is the default (and preferred setup), you'd instantly hit a wall.
You can get around this by using a NAT connection, but this will introduce additional complications.

If you're instance had gone live, it will update my server's and as yet, I've yet to see a connection from yourself. Are you on skype or other?

Re: Connection Refused
you could try logging into your router and see if the vm guest (i.e. bmslink) has obtained an IP address via the DHCP clients table.
I cannot understand the error with vmware, I've done (as have many others) the import and run procedure.

Re: Connection Refused
I use vmware player (and workstation) and i've used virtualbox too (including mac osx) without problems
Re: Connection Refused
No idea. I have imported into vmware now but with a new error: come size too large. There was an error in the ovf file where there was an asterix in the os type

Re: Connection Refused
team viewer is pretty easy to set up... but if you're ok with setting a port forward up on your router, VNC is much better
Re: Connection Refused
I don't have access to a router as I'm at work.

Re: Connection Refused
ok well teamviewer should still work, if you'd like to install that, but we really need some instant messaging to chat in realtime
Re: Connection Refused
We go there in the end. For the record, make sure all your downloads are on your local drive rather than a network drive.
Thanks Neil!
